Today I got emotionally sucker punched. Hard!!! I don’t usually get the wind knocked out of my sails like this but I think this took me by surprise and that’s why.
Honestly, I wanted to cry, that was my first thought. My second thought was I feel like getting completely shitfaced. Those are my go to’s. Numbing my pain with food and alcohol was something that I was on expert level at doing. And, unfortunately, once you’re an expert on this you know that skill for life.
But I didn’t get shitfaced and I’m not going to. I do feel hurt and I’m gonna feel that for a little bit.
So you’re probably all “whhhyyy are you telling me this?? Why do I care?” Well, I know there’s lots of other people who cope this way too. And for those of you in the same boat as I am, you can do it too. Even though it sucks feeling, I know it’ll pass.
Still got a workout in and have been eating well but definitely not enough. Trying to love myself through it.
